OSCARS 2011: TOP OF THE FROCKS!

Oscars: Gwyneth Paltrow at the Oscars Oscars: Reese Witherspoom at the Oscars Oscars: Sharon Stone at the Oscars 2011
It's the longest red carpet in the world and so not surprisingly it's the highlight of the A-list fashion calendar. And for the 2011 Oscars ceremony, those leading ladies didn't let us down.

Our favourites? We love Gwyneth Paltrow in shimmering metallics from Calvin Klein, Reece Witherspoon in on-trend monochrome from Armani Privé, and a fabulous looking Sharon Stone, who opted for a slinky black number with feature detailing.

Biggest trend spot was nudes, rivalling red and black as the colour de jour. Below from left, Michelle Williams in Chanel, Mandy Moore in a Monique Lhuillier gown, and Halle Berry in bespoke Marchesa.

JEN'S NEW 'DO STEALS THE LIMELIGHT

Blonde ambition: The actress, promoting the film at the Villamagna Hotel in Madrid, has chopped her long locks into a bob   New do: Jennifer Aniston chops of her hair into a short bob style just one day after being seen with longer locks
It's the talk of the office this morning ... Jennifer Aniston has had the world's most famous hair chopped!

We have to say we're loving the new, sexy bob. But let's face it, Jen's so gorgeous even a number two would look amazing. It's edgy and current, and, teamed with the sexy black vest, certainly ensured she stole the show at launch of her new film Just Go With It.

Only the day before, she was papped with her iconic flowing locks (or "the Rachel" as it is know to every hairdresser in the land)!

There are some suggestions that the new 'do was unveiled to upstage her young co-star 23-year-old Brooklyn Decker. Well, judging by the amount of coverage today, Jen - looking fabulous for 42 - has certainly managed that!

CHOOS VS LOUBOUTINS ... WHO WINS!

Jimmy Choo fans: Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Diane Kruger and Michelle Obama.

In the blue corner ... we have the red-soled beauties that have stolen the hearts of the A-list. And in the red corner, it's the style classics whose very name is guaranteed to bring the fashion pack out in a cold sweat.

But who really wins in a knock-out between Christian Louboutins and Jimmy Choos? Yes, this is the very question we've been pondering at Mechu HQ (that, along with chaos, homotopy and Necanlinna theories, of course!).

We can assure you there was much heated debate - some felt the Choos edged it with their disco diva bling while others fought passioniately for the sexy shapes of a Louboutin.

In the end, we all shook hands and decided we'd be happy to own a pair from either label (but deep down we all knew the Louboutins were the winner!)

Scenes used in the uber slick programme included a decadent party night - where even our Andy Warhol-inspired Dom Perignon made a cameo - and business meetings between Ash, the gorgeous Emma and a very dodgy football agent.

If you've not seen it - and we don't want to spoil it by telling you what happens - here's the chance to catch up. Click here to watch and see how many times you spot us!

Harajuku Lovers by Gwen Stefani: Peach, pineapple and peony ... a funky mix from the uber cool star.

Vintage Muse by Kate Moss: White musk and chocolate notes deliver an elegant fragrance for fashion icon Kate.

Jennifer Aniston by, er, Jennifer Aniston: Originally called Lolavie, the name was reportedly changed minutes before its launch. Fresh and floral ... just what you'd expect from our favourite Friends character.

Outspoken by Fergie: Created for Avon, the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman opted for a bold scent with berry, wood and leather notes.

In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon: No surprise that cutesy Reese's fragrance is packed with feminine floral notes, inspired by her childhood in Tennessee.

Heat by Beyonce: The advert was deemed to hot for TV and the first fragrance from the sensual diva is as sexy as it gets, blending neroli and vanilla orchid.

Project D by Dannii Minogue: Serious fashion contender - thanks to her striking Project D clothing range - Danni has extended the line with the launch of her first fragrance.

SJP NYC by Sarah Jessica Parker: Inspired by the fabulous Carrie Bradshaw - and who wouldn't want to smell like her! - the fruity number is a cocktail of strawberries, vanilla absolute and rum.

The controversial new single features the line "'sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me" while Rhi Rhi looks completely fabulous in suspenders and latex bondage.
